We’ve missed you. After shutting down for two and a half months, Hamanassett Bed and Breakfast is reopening for business as of May 29, 2020. However, we will be operating under a new normal for the foreseeable future and want to share what we will be doing to keep you, our employees, and ourselves safe and healthy. Our small size enables us to further limit your risk of exposure.
We have always prided ourselves on our cleanliness but we are putting extra steps into action. First, we will only operate at 50% capacity in the main house plus our two cottages which are being booked as self catered with no admittance to the house. After a check out, that room will be left vacant for 72 hours before a housekeeper enters to clean. In addition to our regular cleaning, we are implementing additional steps which include multiple cleaning of public areas such as stair banisters, light switches, door knobs throughout the day with approved disinfectants, there will be hand sanitizer in public areas, individually wrapped alcohol wipes in your room, and single serve snacks in our snack areas. Right now our cookie jar will be gone and we will place fresh baked cookies in your room for your arrival. All check ins will be self check ins. You will find an envelope at the front door with your name and inside will be the key to your room as well aswhich directions for finding your room. Please be assured that once your room and has been properly cleaned it will be locked and no one will enter again throughout the duration of your stay.
Our dining room is large enough to allow for two couples with the six foot separation. In addition, our terrace can seat two couples. Or we will deliver a breakfast basket and leave it just outside your door. Two of our rooms (The Inverness and the Windsor) have private balconies where you can enjoy a private breakfast. Room refreshes will not be done but if you need additional items while you are here you can call us before noon and they will be left outside your door. In the photo below you can see our copper beech which is almost fully in glorious color at this time.
We ask that you also contribute to the well being of everyone by wearing a mask while in public area and maintaining the social distance of six feet. We’ll be rocking our masks also when we do interact with guests.
Now is the time to book your room for your much deserved getaway. Although attractions are still closed in the Brandywine Valley, we have several areas that offer peaceful walking in addition to our six acre property. Most restaurants in the area are offering either delivery or pick up service. If you have any concerns or suggestions, please call us at 610-459-3000.
Our 4 rooms we’ve made available for our opening weekend have already been booked so don’t wait too long to plan your visit to Hamanassett. Click here to check our available rooms and then call us to make sure your favorite is still available. We can hardly wait to see you!
