Mark your calendar for the 77th year of the historic house tour of Chester County. If you are like I am, whenever you drive by a lovely old and historic house you’d love to be able to peek inside. But since being a Peeping Tom is a bit risky and orange isn’t my favorite color, I’ve restrained myself. Now is your chance to view 25 of some of the most historic houses in Chester County Pennsylvania . This tour, which is the longest running house tour in the United States and helps raise funds for the Chester County Hospital, is on October 7, 2017.
The tour, which runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. includes 12 houses around Marshall Square Park and an additional 13 homes in the northwest section of Chester County. You can start your tour wherever you choose. When you order your tickets you will be given a map as well as GPS coordinates of the properties on the tour. The tour also includes 4 public structures which are in West Chester, East Brandywine, Honey Brook and other townships in Chester County. Styles of houses on the Chester County Day Tour range from 18th century to 21st century. A long standing tradition in Chester County is the fox hunt which starts the day at 9 a.m. at Warwick County Park in Pottstown.
