In conjunction with the Seattle Art Museum, the Brandywine River Museum in Chadds Ford, Pa. has organized a retrospective of the art of Andrew Wyeth. Through the paintings on exhibit you will see how his work evolved over the decades. His success and critics are also explored.
Andrew Wyeth: In Retrospect offers works of the artist created between the mid 1930s up to his death in 2009 with subjects both familiar and not as well known. Many of the paintings are on loan from private collections and other museums. The exhibition is accompanied by a catalog which offers impressive firsts for those who are familiar with Wyeth including a timeline of his career, an examination of his career by decade, and new in-depth analyses of aspects of his work.
The show runs through September 17, 2017 and then opens at the Seattle Art Museum in October.
