I’m constantly learning how many historic sites there are near us beyond those associated with the American Revolutionary War and the sites associated with Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell. Just today I discovered that there is a house in northern Philadelphia in which Edgar Allan Poe lived along with his wife, Virginia, and his mother-in-law. Actually Poe lived in several houses in Philadelphia and this is the only one still standing.
Located at 532 N. 7th Street, it has minor exhibits but is well worth a visit if you are a fan of Poe. There are guided tours or you can tour on your own Friday through Sunday from 9-5. Admission is free. For more information.
