As plans for Pope Francis’ visit to Philadelphia in September begin to take shape and the masses begin to descend on our fair city, we still have rooms available at Hamanassett Bed & Breakfast.
The World Meeting of Families runs from Sept. 22-25 and the Pope will be in town Sept. 26 and 27. He has several events scheduled here during his short visit including a speech at Independence Hall Saturday evening where he will speak to the public about religious freedom and immigration. Then at 4 p.m. on Sunday the Pope will perform Mass outside along the Benjamin Franklin Parkway.
The Ben Franklin Parkway is less than 30 miles from Hamanassett. However, perfect planning to travel to the Parkway is a must as security will be in full force through the week of the World Meeting of Families. Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter has said on several occasions that attendees should expect to walk…a lot.
But after you have witnessed the Pope’s holiness you will have a comfortable place to rest your head (and feet) back at our cozy B&B, just far enough away from any expected crowds.
