Philly’s ‘Once Upon a Nation’ Celebrates 10 Years

The Once Upon a Nation program in historic Philadelphia has entertained and educated millions of visitors from around the world for the last 10 years. The stories of our nation’s past engage visitors from Memorial Day to Labor Day throughout historic Philadelphia.

In honor of the 10 Year Anniversary, Once Upon a Nation will host numerous events this summer.

Each day is started with the hoisting of the American Flag at 10 a.m. outside Betsy Ross’ house in a raising the flag ceremony. Then at noon meet Ben Franklin in 3D at the Liberty 360 3D Show in the PECO Theater in the Historic Philadelphia Center.

At 1 p.m. listen to the amazing, engaging and FREE stories of our nation’s past at the award-winning Once Upon a National Storytelling Benches located throughout historic Philadelphia. Each story is just 5 minutes long at each location.

You can Join the Revolution at 3 p.m. where you can march drills with the Continental Army at the Military Muster and march to Independence Square where you will hear the Declaration of Independence reading at Independence Hall.

The history and fun does not stop at nightfall either. Head over to Independence After Hours for dinner and a show or Tippler’s Tour for some bar hopping with Ben Franklin.
