Discover Impressionism, Paul Durand-Ruel at Philly Art Museum

Discover the art of Impressionism at the Philadelphia Museum of Art’s Paul Durand-Ruel exhibit.

The exhibit runs from June 24 through Sept. 13 at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, which is about 25 miles from Hamanassett Bed & Breakfast.

Durand-Ruel was a Parisian art dealer who inspired artists like Monet, Renoir, Manet, Pissarro, and Degas and played a key role in the rise of Impressionism.

Durand-Ruel, who may be considered a modern-day public relations mogul, promoted the young artists and built them an audience prior to their popularity.

This exhibit examines the development of Impressionism through 1865 to 1905 and how Durand-Ruel played a role in the now popular art era. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased here.

The Philadelphia Museum of Art, which has numerous collections and exhibits to admire, is located at 2600 Benjamin Franklin Parkway in Philadelphia, a short drive from Hamanasset.
