BRANDYWINE COUNTRY COOKING SCHOOL

Enjoy the beauty of the Brandywine Valley, the elegant surroundings of Hamanassett and sumptous cuisines prepared by you in a day long hands on cooking class.  (If you are more comfortable just watching, that's okay too.)  Brandywine Country Cooking School features recipes and techniques for preparing extradinary menus themed to a particular time of the year or special occassion.  Classes are led by Chef Ann-Michelle Albertson, a noted chef who received her professional training at LaVarenne in Paris as well as the Culinary Institute of America, Johnson & Wales, L'Academie de Cuisine, Peter Kump's New York, New England Culinary Institue, the French Culinary Institute and CIA Greystone.

All classes will begin with a welcoming reception on Sunday night so participants can meet each other.  Class will be held all day Monday after a wonderful Hamanassett breakfast.  If you would like to extend your visit to tour the Brandywine Valley on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday, we will offer participants a discount off our normal rates.  Space is limited and rooms are first come first serve so ensure getting your choice of your rooms by booking early.

The Brandywine Sampler Package

HONEYMOON/ANNIVERSARY PACKAGE  $115.00: Includes everything in the Enchanted Evening Package plus a heart-shaped porcelian 5" x 7" frame.

Therapeutic and Sports Massage Enjoy a body soothing and mind calming therapeutic or sports massage in the privacy of your room (Inverness, Devon, Windsor, Cambridge only). Therapeutic massage will aid in relaxation, stress reduction, and relief of muscle fatige and tension. Sports massage is a sub-specialty within the overall field. It combines classic and specific techniques designed to provide therapeutic impact for the unique physical and biomechanical needs of athletes. Shiatsu massage therapy, which has its roots in Oriental tradional medicine, is also available. Both of our massage therapists are board certified. One hour massage $100.00; two one hour massages only $175.00.  Couples massages available.  Massages are not available in the Brighton or Cotswold rooms because of size.  Taxes and gratuities are not included. Payment is by check or cash directly to the therapist.  Please give us 48 hours notice if possible.  Gratuities to your therapist at your discretion.

Wine Tour of Brandywine Valley Lush leafy vineyards, barrel filled cellars, charming tasting rooms, and world class wines await you in the rolling hills and scenic countryside of the Brandywine Valley. With a two night stay at our Bed and Breakfast, you can purchase a Wine Trail passport from your hosts and explore six wineries. The cost is only $20.00 per person in addition to the cost of your room and includes your passport and two souvenir wine glasses to take home. These family operated vineyards and wineries are diverse in size and style but united by a desire to make brilliant and distinct wines that reflect the unique characteristics of the Brandywine Valley. The wineries include: Twin Brook Winery -2/3 classic European vinifera and the remainder French hybrid vines, Chaddsford Winery - nationally acclaimed winery on small scenic estate produces 30,000 cases of wine annually, Kreutz Creek Vineyards, Paradocx Vineyard - an independent vinifera and premium hubrid wine grape grower,  Black Walnut, Penn's Woods, and Stargazers. The wineries of The Brandywine Valley Wine Trail are all located within a 30 minute drive of each other and near other Brandywine Valley attractions like Longwood Gardens, Winterthur, the Brandywine River Museum, and other fine restaurants and antique shops. Make a weekend of it or save your passport and come back to visit us. Your passport is good for a year. Please note that most wineries are open on weekends only. If you do not wish to visit all seven wineries, Hamanassett has made special arrangements with VaLa Winery for wine tastings for our guests.  Please ask us about this.

Say It With Roses $55.00 - You can surprise that special someone with a vase filled with a dozen long stemmed red roses and gift card. You tell us what to write. Other colors may be available. Take the roses and vase home when you leave Hamanassett.  Please give us 48 hours notice. (Market price applies during Valentine's).

Seasonal Mixed Bouquet $45.00 - Let us make a lovely arrangement of mixed flowers to dress up your room upon arrival and then take it and the vase home with you. We'll include a card; tell us what to write.

Silk Rose Petals $15.00 - We will turn down your bed and sprinkle it with silk rose petals on the night of your choice. Choice of either red or white.

Swiss Chocolate Truffles and a bottle of champagne .    $45.00 These renowned Swiss premium Truffles are hand made by a Swiss chocolatier right in Chester County. The truffles are made from 100% Swiss Chocolate shells filled with a variety of creamy mousses made from dairy-fresh butter and cream. The delicious truffles are presented in elegant purple moire boxes. 1/4 # box includes 12 mouth watering truffles such as champagne, raspberry, hazelnuts, banana, white chocolate and mint.
