Touring the Studio of N.C. Wyeth in the Brandywine Valley

Last week we finally visited the studio of N. C. Wyeth located in Chadds Ford, Pa.    As most of you know, the Wyeth family is an institution in the Brandywine Valley.  It began with N.C. who was famous for so many of the illustrations of early books such as Kidnapped and Treasure Island.  His works as well as his son, Andrew, and grandson, Jamie, can be seen at the Brandywine River Museum which is located only 6 miles from Hamanassett Bed & Breakfast.  In addition you will find works of Howard Pyle and other noted artists at the museum.  They usually have changing exhibits so check their web site to learn what is ongoing or coming up. The tour of the studio N. C. Wyeth requires reservations and is $8.00 in addition to admission to the museum.  Our tour guide was well versed in her subject matter and obviously loves everything about the painters and their studio.  Touring the studio will take about an hour and the museum can be toured in about 2 hours so it is a terrific way to spend a half day when you visit the Brandywine Valley.  It is about a five minute drive from Longwood Gardens.  Click here for more information.
