Don’t Miss Historic Philadelphia While Visiting the Brandywine Valley

Did you know that Hamanassett Bed and Breakfast and the Brandywine Valley are only 30 minutes from Philadelphia?  It is an easy drive into the city or you can drive less than 10 minutes to the Elwyn Train Station which will take you right into Philadelphia.  Once in the city you can jump onto The Big Bus (click here for info) which offers old fashioned trolleys and double decker buses with stops at 21 different sites.  You can jump on and off at as many of these as you care to.  Some of the sites not to mention in Philadelphia is The Betsy Ross House where you will meet Betsy Ross and be able to chat with her.

ThosJeffersonYou can also meet Thomas Jefferson who has just left his beloved plantation in Virginia, Monticello, to come to Philadelphia.  Lucky you, to find him having dinner at the City Tavern and he has invited you to join him.  All of these scenarios and more are available through historicphiladelphia.org.

After a wonderful history filled day in Philadelphia return to Hamanassett Bed & Breakfast for a quiet evening with free parking and a fabulous breakfast the following morning.  We are also just 35 minutes from Valley Forge National Park and 10 minutes from the Brandywine Battlefield so you can also visit them while staying with us.  So much history in such a small area.
